Nigel Stephens - Owner

In 1988, Nigel successfully completed a three-year course to gain his BTEC, HNC and HND in Automotive Retail Management. He joined Lancaster Jaguar in 1994 and whilst with Lancaster he won many awards for Marketing, Used Car Sales Performance, Strategic Business Planning and Customer Service. Indeed his team were nationally recognised at the prestigious Motor Trader Awards in London during 1999 for Outstanding Customer Service. This was the second time Nigel was nationally recognised, having previously reached the UK finals for the exclusive Jaguar Sales Masters Programme. He left Lancaster Sevenoaks in July 2001 to start up Oakwood Vehicle Solutions signalling the end of his seven-year romance with Jaguar Cars and the start of an unknown internet journey.

In 2004 Nigel approached Lind Audi and agreed to purchase all their part exchange vehicles. Both parties honouring that agreement for well over a 2.5 years, indeed, Oakwoods collected over 2,500 cars worth in excess of 18 million pounds!

Inchcape PLC purchased the Lind Group in May 2006 and the last vehicle collection took place in September 2006. Oakwoods purchased Culls Farm in January 2007 and Nigel split from his business partner in April 2008. With a recession looming he choose to reduced the size of the Oakwoods Group car sales operation, instead focusing on quality not quantity and incorporate a sizeable MOT Centre and Garage facility (First Class MOT’s) and a vehicle bodyshop (East Farleigh Coachworks).

Originally, from Sevenoaks, now residing in West Malling, Nigel is responsible for the every day running of the Oakwood's Group and when not in the office, his time is taken up by his wife, Anna, and their three lovely boys. Nigel is a keen golfer and likes nothing better than attending trackdays on his Yamaha R6 or his Nissan GTR.
